Plan B's Famous Wagyu beef burger

After reading and hearing numerous reviews and comments about this famous burger that is from the the subsidiary of the famous 2 hatted restaurant- Becasse, I had to try it for myself.

So after a busy morning at work, I arranged to take the long walk down Clarence Street to Plan B and taste this famous burger.
Plan B is basically a walk in counter which is next to the Becasse restaurant. We sauntered in and had a quick perusal of the offerings - which were quite limited (even though we already knew what we were going to get :P). On offer was a variety of pastries including sausage rolls and a fridge of assorted juices and other beverages.

Then we got down to business and placed our order for 2 wagyu beef burgers. At $10 each- this was a steal. We were informed that we would have to wait for the burgers to be cooked, since we came all the way to taste the burger, we were willing to wait and also eat there.

Inside the hole there is a bench with 2 stools and outside are 2-3 tables with a few chairs which were taken by other patrons enjoying the burgers.

It took approximately 20-30 minutes for the burgers to be ready which is quite a long wait considering that our lunch breaks are meant to be only for 1 hour. We managed to get a table outside by the time the burgers came out and we were starving then. In hindsight, we should have called up ahead and ordered the burgers to pick up as that would have saved a helluva lot of time.

Wagyu Beef Burger $10

Up close

The burgers had a thick patty of mince wagyu beef which had a nice fatty taste to it compared to your normal beef patties. On top of that was some melted cheese and below was lettuch and beetroot. All this was sanwiched betweed 2 grilled and buttered hamburger buns. It's high shape makes it hard to eat conventionally with you hands, and they provided us with knife and fork, so we ate like like a meal, haha. Alternatively, you could always squash the burger and eat it like a big mac.

The taste is delicious, distinctly different to your corner shop burger and also quite filling. However, I find that a lot of the wagyu flavour is lost when the meat is minced and grilled into a beef patty, so I personally wouldn't go too crazy for this burger. In saying that, it is definitely a class above most burgers and definitely a must try - especially for just $10!
